<former appearance ;; current battle appearance>
For the better part of her life Yuna wore a traditional miko's garb: hakui, sode-kukuri, hakama, tabi, and zori. Even when she was mated to one of the most evil beings known to man she still wore the same clothing, to signify what she was. Or...what she had been, before mating with him. However, as times changed, so did her clothing. She came to realize the growing need to change with the times, as miko clothing became less and less common. Yes, that style still existed in traditional Shinto shrines, but she was hardly capable of running a shrine. Besides, since she had to travel so much to keep people from getting suspicious about her never-changing age, that became even less of an option. And so she began to adapt to the popular fashions, though as time went on she couldn't help but wonder what the youth of Japan had in mind with some of the clothing they wore. Really, some of it was truly utterly ridiculous. And far too impractical for any real work. But she persevered, and has managed to make herself appear like an ordinary teenager; for the most part, anyway. Most commonly now she wears a school uniform, or a black dress, as they seem the easiest for her to enjoy wearing and to get by in.
The only real change to her appearance is her so-called "battle mode". When she calls upon her spiritual powers to aid her in a fight she takes on the appearance (clothes, hairstyle) that she had during her strongest point in life (530 years before). She has no real explanation for how it happens, or why, but Yuna hardly thinks that it's an important enough detail to worry over. Besides, as soon as the fight is over her clothing returns to normal and she can go on with her life as per usual.
Despite having the appearance of a high school girl, Yuna's eyes display a deep level of wisdom that few could hope to attain in an entire lifetime. Not surprising, as she has lived for over ten lifetimes herself. On occasion her eyes will become dim or hazy, and it will appear that they are starring right through a person. Seeing them, and yet not seeing them. It has been described as being quite unnerving for her gray-blue orbs to look at someone like that. Most commonly though they just appear as normal. The rest of her features are fairly average, if not just a touch on the childish side. When she was cursed she had just barely finished maturing into a full adult woman, so she had hardly been given the time to loose all of her childish appearance. Though in the past she learned that looking sweet and innocent was actually a good thing, as it allowed those she wanted to help to trust her more easily.
As a miko, Yuna received her fair share of scars. Underneath her clothing she hides numerous scars of varying lengths and ugliness. However, she can hardly view any of them as imperfections, as she grew up in a time when scars were known to signify that a warrior had fought and earned their place. But since they would undoubtedly be seen much differently in this society she makes sure to cover them no matter what, so to not have to deal with prying eyes and questions that she would never be able to answer to anyone's satisfaction.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/ul][/size]

Youkai, be gone!
As a miko, it is Yuna's first priority to defeat youkai, or demons, no matter what. From a very early age she was taught that demons were bad and that it was a miko's sworn duty to rid the world of them. However, a few hundred years taught her that not all demons were actually bad. Although there were plenty of evil ones, to be certain, there were also some that were good. For instance, she had mated with Jiro, and he had definitely been a good youkai. Everyone in his village had been. None of them had bothered with the pointless killing that so many demons took part in, and that was something that Yuna loved about them all. Despite this new-found belief of hers, Yuna will still purify demons that are causing trouble for people when they can't be dealt with any other way.
Spirit, rest in peace.
Even demons deserve a bit of respect, and saying a prayer for them after she purifies them is one way that she can provide them with that. Although she has been told many times that there is no need for her to offer any respect to demons, Yuna still feels that she should. She feels that she owes it to them to at least give them that. Yuna is also the type of person who would pray for human souls when they die, so that they can move on to where they are supposed to go. Not that she actually believes that all souls go to heaven or hell. In fact, she doesn't necessarily believe in either place. She is a firm believer that it is completely impossible for anyone to say where a soul goes after it leaves the earth, no matter who they are, or what they claim to know. And yet for some reason she will still sometimes pray to 'Kami' (God). When asked why she does so when she says she doesn't believe in heaven or hell, she simply states that by praying to "Kami" she is simply praying to a higher power, not necessarily God.
Someone's having a good time. What is it, Christmas already?
Another aspect of her personality is the way she likes to tease others. She only teases people for amusement, and a mutual one at that. She won’t tease someone she doesn’t consider a friend or family member because she doesn’t know – or probably like – them enough to be able to tease them effectively about something. Which also means that she doesn’t tease anyone very often at all, since she has virtually no friends. She doesn’t try to avoid people, like other friendless individuals though, because she spends plenty of time around other people. It’s more that she doesn't want to deal with the pain she knows she will feel when they grow old and die and she remains young. Also, because she has to move around as much as she does, it is almost impossible to make friends that will last.
Anata...
Despite the fact that six hundred years passed since her mate's death, Yuna still mourns him, and has vowed never to fall in love again. Five hundred years ago she managed to convince herself that she was in love again, but she had been wrong. She never did find out what it was that she felt for the half-demon that became her second mate, but it was most certainly not true love. Or really any type of love. This is part of the reason why she still wears mostly black clothing, for another reason for that is that even when times change, black never goes out of style so she doesn't need to purchase new clothing as often. Which is a very good thing in her opinion, as she hates shopping with a fiery passion.
Please do not treat me like a child.
After all, unless you are a demon, Yuna is very, very much older. She truly loathes being treated like a child, and having to go to school over and over so as to avoid suspicion whenever she moves to a new place. Although she can vary it so that she either attends high school again or university, she has gotten sick and tired of having to go through both so many times. All the same, attending the schools allow her to gain better knowledge of the current times so that she won't accidentally use incorrect information from an entirely different decade or something when conversing with other people. Also, as she is often out of the country, it helps to teach her what she missed during her absence. And while she is going to school in a foreign country school also helps her fit in better with the other students.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/ul][/size]

- Creating barriers to protect herself or others with. Over the years she has perfected this ability to include multiple barriers in different locations. However, the larger they are, or the more there are, the weaker they are and the easier they can be destroyed.
- Healing injuries. As a miko this was one of the first skills that Yuna had to perfect. However, she is unable to use this power to heal herself, or someone who is too close to death. And as it requires a great deal of energy she is drained afterward.
- Art of Sealing. By using this ability she can seal an evil spirit into an object and place a spell over it so only she, or someone of equal or greater spiritual power can remove the seal and release the spirit.
- Purification. By using this ability, Yuna is able to purify a demon. By adjusting the power behind her ki energy she can either completely obliterate a demon or singe it to teach it a lesson.

For thousands of years demons roamed free in the world. They preyed on human lives, and took great pleasure in killing entire villages just because they could, or to test their powers. To combat these demons were mikos and houshis, men and women with great spiritual power who were able to destroy the youkai and bring peace to those terrorized by the monsters. As Yuna grew up she was taught that all demons were bad, and that there were no exceptions to that rule. However, she occasionally wondered if that was true. After all, her mother had often spoken to her about how there were some evil people and some good, so didn't that extend to demons as well? After all, some of them even looked like humans, so couldn't they have the same feelings, the same good and evil values as humans?
When Yuna was sixteen her mother brought her to a hidden room in an underground part of the temple they lived at. Aiko wanted to pass the family's secrets onto her daughter, who had come of age. The older woman showed a blood red sword to her daughter, telling her the story of how it had been made from the blood and souls of humans. It was a demonic sword with untold evil powers, and it was all that Aiko could do to keep it sealed in the underground chamber. Yuna was asked to promise to continue to guard it from demons, as well as to contribute to the energy that sealed it. Which she did, for two years alongside both of her parents. Until, that is, a demon stronger than any she had ever seen, came to take the sword. Uruyatama was unable to defeat Aiko, because the priestess proved too strong for him, however he did manage to mortally wound her and kill Yahiko, her husband. With the last of her strength Aiko warned Yuna that demons would now come after the sword if something wasn't done with it. If it wasn't destroyed, or hidden somewhere where no one would ever find it.
But with her death came another curse. The sword's power was no longer contained by her spiritual energy, and was allowed to instead take on a mind of its own. Still knew to being a miko, Yuna was only able to partially suppress its power, and for her failure to completely seal it, she was cursed. She wasn't sure whether it was the evil sword that had somehow cursed her, or a greater power that was cursing her for her inability to save her parents, defeat the demon, or seal the sword. No matter the reason though, that hardly changed anything. Yuna was no longer able to age. She learned quickly that she could still get hurt, still get sick, and still almost die. However, she wasn't lucky enough to receive that final death blow that would take her from the earth. And in a way she was grateful for that fact. Because so long as she was alive the sword remained partially sealed, and its evil hidden away. But if she died... than there would be no one left to keep it hidden and it would once again be able to find an owner who would use it for evil purposes.
After the deaths of her parents, and the destruction of the family temple that also took place during that awful battle, Yuna was at a loss for what she should do with her life. At this point she had not yet learned that she was immortal, and very briefly did she consider taking her own life. But she had been taught that committing an act like that was one of the ultimate sins. Not to mention that if she did take her own life her parents, wherever they were, would be completely disappointed in her. Not wanting that, she instead tried to think of alternatives. At first she considered going to the nearest village and trying to make herself useful helping to heal the sick and wounded there. However, that didn’t seem like the best choice to her. Although helping the villagers would be a perfectly acceptable thing to do, she wanted to do more with her life. She wanted to be able to help more people than just the people from one village. Perhaps it was selfish of her to not just settle down and help one group of people, but she was too blinded by thoughts of grandeur to face reality. And so she headed off to make a living as a traveling miko, a priestess who would help anyone she came upon who needed it. And she did help plenty of people, though she also started getting her own fair share of disasters, demons, unhappy villagers, and many other bad things.
After three hundred years of traveling from village to village, staying in them only when absolutely necessary, Yuna was starting to feel uneasy with simply traveling. She felt like she wanted to settle down somewhere, but knew it was an impossible thing for her. She had learned of her immortality during what would have been her twenty-second year, when someone commented that she didn't look a day over eighteen. That was when she had first realized that it was true; she hadn't aged a day in four years. At first she had been scared of what that meant, but in time she learned to accept it for what it was. One day she came upon an injured youkai pup that was being attacked by an itachi youkai, a weasel demon. She rescued the pup by killing the weasel, before she bandaged up the pup. Just when she was finishing, one of the young one's friends came to offer it aid, and thinking that she was attacking it, attacked her. Though she had grown much stronger than she had been when she first began her travels, the youkai defeated her easily. The only reason he didn't kill her was because the pup begged him not to, explaining that it was Yuna who saved him from the itachi.
Breath heaving, Yuna stared up at the youkai standing above her, a mixture of terror and defiance on her face. She was hardly even aware of the words the pup was telling to the youkai, too stunned to actually pay attention. Her life was flashing before her eyes, and she was all too aware that this could very well be it for her. Although she didn't want to die, there was nothing she could to do prevent it from happening, now. She was just too weak to stop this youkai.
After a moment she blinked. Why wasn't he killing her? In fact, he didn't even appear that interested in her anymore, as he had apparently turned all of his attention to the pup, who was now bouncing around. She blinked again, wondering if it was safe to move; safe to run. However, before she could even lift a hand the youkai turned his head back towards her and she froze.
"Onna, I thank you for your hard work to save Yamma here. He was foolish to stray away from his parents while hunting."
Yuna cocked her head to the side, confused. The youkai was being so... so polite to her. But why? She was a miko, for Kami's sake. Why would he be polite to her? Why would he thank her? It made no sense. "I... I couldn't just let the itachi kill him..." she murmured at length.
The youkai man smirked. "Aa? And you even stood up to me, an elemental youkai. You are something, for a mere ningen onna."
"Mere? What is that supposed to mean?"
"Just what I said, ningen."
"But that is hardly fair! I am a miko!"
The man scoffed. "A miko is nothing to someone of my rank."

That was Yuna's first encounter with a youkai that she didn't immediately want to purify. And it was hardly the first encounter she had with him. Yamma invited her back to the village to receive payment for helping him, much to the older Youkai's chagrin, and for some reason she accepted. Once they reached the village she was escorted to the village leader's hut where she was asked to explain what had happened. Here she learned that the earth elemental demon village that Jiro -- so that had been the older youkai's name -- and Yamma belonged to were actually at war with the weasel demons. She took this in, not quite sure if it was a good thing or not that she had gotten herself involved in a demonic war. When she was asked if she wished to stay in the village until it was certain that she wouldn't be attacked by the weasels, she also agreed. Why, she never knew, though she eventually came to be glad that she had accepted the offer. She gradually made friends with many of the youkai in the village and came to be respected by them for her healing powers and her knowledge of general medicinal herbs. After awhile she even managed to become friends with Jiro, and the two often went hunting together.
In fact, after about eighty years the two fell in love and were mated. Soon after Jiro took on the role of the village leader, since the former leader, his father, was killed in battle. Yuna was happy that she had seemingly finally found her place in life. She had all but forgotten about the sword she had been asked to seal, as it had caused her no trouble for hundreds of years, and she was mated to a youkai that she truly loved. She could stay in the village without anyone questioning her never-changing appearance, as the youkai living there were all bound to live for centuries anyway. A few years after mating, the two had a pup of their own: Isao. Yuna doted on the pup day in and day out, while Jiro wanted nothing more than to start on the boy's education. Unfortunately, less than twenty years later, hardly a blink of an eye for a youkai, the itachi youkais came to attack. While Yuna was off in another village gathering supplies that they desperately needed, the weasels managed to completely wipe out the entire village. They killed everyone mercilessly, including Isaso. Jiro fended them off as long as he could, but his power alone wasn't enough to save them. Sadly, Yuna returned while Jiro was still alive, though her powers were useless to her; he died in her arms while all she could do was cry, begging him not to leave her. After his death the few rogue weasels that remained attacked her, injuring her greatly but unfortunately not enough to cause her death. Yuna's spiritual powers, enhanced by her grief, took control of her and completely obliterated all traces of the weasels, saving her own life.
After burying the youkai she had called family for so long, as well as her husband and child, she began to travel again, heartbroken. For over a hundred years this went on, and in time she did manage to return to a semblance of her old self. However anyone who looked deep into her eyes could see the haunted look that filled them. She made a few friends over the years that she could actually relate to in one way or another: another human cursed to immortality, a wolf demon and her mate, and a human witch. She also managed to fall in love again; sort of. At the very least she managed to fool herself into believing that she was in love again. She mated with the half-demon, whom she knew to be evil. With him she birthed too more pups; Asuma and Amara. However, Amara disappeared while she was still very young, and her mate wouldn't tell her where the girl went. That was when she first started coming to her senses about what she was doing. Still, it wasn't until many years later that she came to her senses completely and left the hanyou. By this point Asuma was also becoming evil, and there was nothing she could do to stop it. She had also learned that Amara had been kidnapped and raised by humans, and had turned into a fine young demon slayer. As she herself was a miko, she hardly cared what her daughter chose to be. The only thing she did mind was that Amara had no memory of her whatsoever. It wasn't until another few hundred years passed that Amara remembered that Yuna was her mother, and the two became closer.
After leaving her second mate she once again took to the road, becoming what she was most used to: a traveling miko. As the years passed she began to travel further and further away, eventually including the rest of Asia and parts of Europe in her journeys. During one of her travels she learned that the sword she had once protected, now long since destroyed, had indeed been cursed by an evil spirit. And in turn, that evil spirit had cursed her to never grow older. Why the curse hadn't broken when the sword was destroyed she didn't know, but at least she knew that she would die eventually. All she had to do was wait until someone stronger than she managed to land a killing blow, or she managed to die from some illness. Now over a thousand years old, Yuna has begun to wonder though if either of those things will ever happen. She longs to be reunited with her mate, Jiro, the one that she truly loved. On the other hand, she also believes that the longer she lives the longer she will be able to help people. In the last year she has moved into a deserted temple in Tokyo and made herself known as a mystic. She can perform seances (though she loathes performing them), rid people, houses and objects of evil spirits, and provide people with good luck charms. Although it is menial work, it pays the bills that must be paid, and in a way it can be considered fulfilling. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/ul][/size]

Any of my posts as Lin~
Or you can simply read some of my former posts with her. If they make no sense, well... Lol sorry. ^^;
It was cold outside, due to the season. Early spring was always very beautiful to the immortal priestess, but the cold temperatures and ever-changing weather she could easily do without. She had never been a big fan of cold weather, and the thin layer of snow on the ground from the snowfall the day before was only proving to hamper her spirits.
Yuna stopped walking for a moment to get her bearings and decide what her next course of action should be. She had been so busy lately. She had been traveling non-stop for months, until she had finally reached a human village where over half of the population had managed to come down with a dreadful illness. She had only planned on passing through, but her good nature had gotten the better of her, and she ended up staying a month. Luckily by the time she left almost all of the villagers were well, and the ones who weren't were on a quick path to recovery. Thankfully none had passed, save those who had died before she arrived in the village.
And just earlier this very same day she had managed to come across a demon about to maul a young girl to death for food. Saving the girl had not proved to be easy, for the demon was stronger than she had first believed. Gazing down at her left arm she sighed softly. It was bandaged tightly underneath her miko garb, but the faint stain of red could still be seen.
It was her own fault though, for being so careless as to underestimate the inoshishi youkai. She had forgotten that inoshishi were prone to great strength during their mating season, which corresponded with this time. At least that wound had not been too great. Yuna smiled ever-so-slightly. Now here she was rationalizing about an injury. The miko was definitely not at her best today to be sure.
All the same... she should probably wash her wound. Even with her healing powers, if she did not clean the wound, it might become infected. And she could not afford to lose an arm. What she needed was to find a spring of some kind in order to bathe. She could probably use the bath as well. She knew that she was covered in dry sweat, as well as blood from her own wound, as well as that of the youkai. But... were there any springs around these parts?
As she thought her two front teeth sunk themselves into her lower lip, a habit she had never been able to shake herself of. Yes... she seemed to remember that the last time she had come through these parts there had been a small spring perfect for bathing located somewhere in this forest. Raising her head the gray eyed woman wondered, "Now... if memory serves... it should be..." She paused to think for another moment before smiling. "This way!"
Heading off to the right Yuna's smile grew with the anticipation of a nice bath. Despite the cold weather and the snow, a bath would be pleasant. An onsen would be better, but... a normal cool one would do all the same. A nice, peaceful, quiet... As the miko entered the clearing where the spring was her thoughts came to a grinding halt. There was already someone bathing in the spring. A very naked, female someone. A flush came to her cheeks. Bowing her head quickly she sputtered, "Sumimasen! I-I didn't know s-someone was already here! Forgive me."
The graveyard was also overgrown, Yuna was saddened to discover. She had last visited this place two months before, when she had believed she was going to die, but these plants had not been there then. Maybe their presence was a good sign... like that maybe things were finally right with the world.
She stopped at a grave in the middle, marked by a large stone. It was one of the few from the time that had received a proper marker such as this. She had been hurried, and had possessed no desire to stay in the village longer than need be to bury the dead. So she had really only taken the time to make graves for two. Her husband... and her son.
Yuna breathed a sigh as she pulled herself from her memories. Kneeling before the grave she placed her hands in front of her, palms together, in a prayer. Once that was through she lowered her hands to rest them on her lap. She stayed in that position for a moment, simply staring at the grave. Finally she sighed once more before speaking.
"It is over, anata... When I came here two months ago I told you that I had married again... that I was happy..." She let out a bitter laugh. "But it was a lie. Shitsurei shimashita. I never should have lied to you... I was never happy with him... I may have fooled myself into thinking that I was, but... it was not true. When I was with him I had lost everything. My purpose, my powers, my children, even."
She closed her eyes. "The biggest thing I lost though... was you... Not with him, of course. But when I lost you... my world ended. I was completely lost... I still am," she admitted softly. "I can pretend to be happy, but... I am not... I am needed by none, feared by many, and hated by myself. I... hate myself for not being able to save you... I'm a priestess, I have the power to heal. I should have been able to save you."
"But I could not. And now..." Taking a deep breath she continued. "...now I do not know... is not my purpose already fulfilled? Have not I lived long enough on this earth?" She smiled sadly. It was a foolish question coming from a fool. She was a fool to believe she would really receive an answer. "I wish that you could answer, my love... so I could hear your wonderful voice once more..."
