20

Horror novel writer
Character's Race:
Japanese/British
Character's Origin:
In truth this character was inspired by many things. Partly Hector Barbossa (Pirates of the Caribbean), partly after seeing a picture on Anime Characters Database, partly after reading the bio of a friend's character, partly from my own twisted psyche, and partly just because I wanted to try something new. ^^
Character's Special Powers:
Sara has an abnormally high rate of healing for a human. After getting a deep gash on her arm, for instance, it would take her but a few days to heal when it would take most people weeks or even longer. She enjoys using this ability for her own twisted purposes.
She is also very adept when it comes to both black magic and blood magic. She has made pacts with several dark forces that allow her to summon their powers at her will. However each requires her blood as well as a great deal of her own energy. Little does she know each time she summons these powers of darkness they also strip away a bit of her soul.
- Horror Summoning - This technique requires the user's blood be sacrificed to the demon Mait (may-ite). In turn the being shall allow the user to cast an illusion on the intended victim that shows them their worst nightmares. Depending on the amount of blood and the mental strength of the inflicted these illusions can be either strong or weak.
- Demonic Summoning - Calling to Bergo (bur-go), after offering their blood the user is able to summon a demon from the pits of Hell itself. These demons vary in power and skill level from weak to invincible based off the amount of blood offered.
{will be updated as Sara learns more rituals}
Character's Personality:
There are many words that could be used to describe Sara, but none quite as fitting as the word sadist. Now motivations for behavior have never been particularly important to Sara. She not only doesn't care why other people do things, but also why she herself does things. She has always done what she wanted when she wanted, regardless of consequences or the reasons behind the actions. However, if one were to delve deep into her psyche they would discover what motivates her to act the way she does. Her primary motivator, for instance, would be torment. She desires to torment others as well as herself. Not only this but she finds pleasure in seeing the results of pain. Sara could easily be described as a hedonist in that respect. She will often cut herself so she can feel pleasure in the pain. After getting injured she will often stare at the wound until it stops bleeding, marveling at the color and consistency of the blood. For you see blood fascinates her to no end. She finds great pleasure in watching how various types of wounds bleed, and will often watch horror movies that are very gory.
In general though Sara will appear very melancholy, almost always having a sour expression plastered on her face. Sneers are also something very commonplace with her. She has a very cynical outlook on life and humans in general, going so far as to believe that humans will destroy themselves and the planet. She is the type of person to automatically assume the worst of someone, even upon first meeting them. A bit manipulative, Sara will use others for her own purposes without much -- if any -- hesitation on her part. After all, if the planet is doomed anyway why would it matter if she used another human being? She also has no qualms about showing her disdain for something or someone, even if common courtesy dictates otherwise. She will speak her mind without fear of repercussion in a daring fashion that is more reckless and heartless than anything else.
Very narrow-minded as well, Sara often believes that her opinion is the only one that matters; on particularly subjects (particularly ones related to horror) at least. On these topics she is unflappable. Arrogant and for the majority self-centered, she surprisingly has no problem helping others if they ask. However that doesn't mean that she would go out of her way, or be polite about it. In fact she would be rather crude to them while assisting them with whatever task she has no doubt deemed "menial" in her own mind. This unwillingness to seek out people derives from her own loner status; she prefers the company of herself as well as horror movies and books over the company of other people. As such her "nicer" personality is often closed off from the world, allowing her usual cold, calculating, cruel self to be in charge of things.
Although Sara doesn't believe in God she does believe in demonology. She doesn't worship any specific gods, though she has made pacts with several demonic beings. She will offer sacrifices and offerings to them, usually consisting of her own blood or an animal she has killed. Oddly enough Sara is an insomniac, who suffers nightmares of her misdeeds. Without the aid of strong sleeping pills she would never be able to get any sleep at all. And even with them she still ends up waking up at around three or four every morning. As she also ends up going to be very late, often not until midnight or one, she sleeps very little (refer to appearance for details). She is also very superstitious, believing in many different omens (mostly bad ones). If a black cat were to cross the road in front of her she would take every precaution to prevent bad luck from befalling herself.
Character's Appearance:
Eyes are often known as the windows to the soul. For Sara this tidbit could very well be true for her eyes speak volumes about the madness within her own mind. It is unknown to most if this madness was always there or if it is a side effect of calling upon forces of darkness on a regular basis. There are only a few people alive who knew Sara before she began to make these dark pacts, and they are not available to make comments on her past; she made sure of that. Her ruby red eyes are wide and haunted in appearance, set underneath thin eyebrows. Not naturally wide, they appear this way due to the extended periods of time she spends in dark rooms where there is no light at all. One unique feature about them is that her right eye changes form slightly when she is channeling the demonic forces she has pacts with. Her eye takes on a more reptilian-like nature, the inner part elongating and changing to a golden color to circle her pupil. Underneath her eyes are dark circles that seem almost permanent due to her lack of sleep.
Her lips are almost constantly drawn down into a frown, and when they're not they are usually either in a smirk or a sneer. Her skin is also extremely pale, unhealthily so, do to her spending the majority of her time locked in a dark room. Her preferred clothing style is Gothic, though she will at times go with the GothLoli style of fashion that is increasing in popularity in Japan or the Lolita Punk style. Also when channeling the demonic powers black markings appear on her hands, wrists, and parts of her face and neck. These markings show her for what she really is, though they don't appear unless she is using her powers.

The room was dark; and not just any kind of dark, but the kind that makes a person feel like they were in a cave. There were blackout curtains on the lone window and the overhead light was flicked to the ‘off’ position. It was exactly the kind of atmosphere that Sara craved when working on a story. Although she loved sitting in front of her television underneath her kotatsu table watching one of her favorite movies, this was much better when she wanted to get those creative juices flowing. Humming some nonsensical tune to herself the woman lay on her back on the tatami floor, staring up at the ceiling. Not that she could see anything of course, but she knew it was there. She also knew that the Gothic-style chandelier she had just bought for the room was directly above where she now lay. It was the perfect finishing touch to the room, which was already styled just how she liked it: dark and grim. Even the tatami mat had been specially ordered in a dark red shade with a black border. The walls were also painted a deep crimson, similar to the color of blood. It was perfect for writing horror novels. Although in actuality she spent far more time in here than she did anywhere else in her large home. None of the other rooms suited her as well as this one did. Even her bedroom, which was done in a traditional Japanese style, didn’t suit her very well at all. If she were capable of such emotions she would say that it made her sad.
Sara continued to gaze at the darkness around her, feeling it begin to close in. A small smirk came to her lips and she let out a soft giggle. ”I love it,” she murmured to herself, her voice its usual high pitch. She giggled again. It wasn’t even all that funny. In fact it was rather depressing; and to her that was the funny part. Her mother had thought she was sick. Sara recalled the time her parents had taken her to see a psychologist. That nasty little man had been completely horrid. He had been filthy, smelly, and incompetent. What nerve he had had to, to tell her parents that she had a personality disorder. Bah, utterly ridiculous. She was perfectly sane. Well, maybe not perfectly sane, but at least she knew more than that pathetic excuse for a doctor. She wondered what the little man would say if she were to turn up one of these days at his office and demand him to tell her what right he had to tell her parents something so completely untrue. She could easily show that man that she was not the type of person to trifle with. ”I could call on Mait,” she mused aloud. Yes, Mait would certainly show that petty man what she was made out of. Mait would help her teach him a lesson he would never forget. Except that Mait was a bit too good for the likes of him. No, it would be a waste of the demon’s powers to do anything to him.
It would be much better to just leave him alone and let his own lies catch up to him as she knew they would. All evil men got what was coming to them eventually, and Sara believed that. Gods of destruction and darkness wouldn’t permit just anyone getting away with committing sins after all. No, hardly anyone in fact. And that was the way it should be. The world was a much better place when the gods were in control. The writer sat up suddenly, her red eyes wider than usual. She knew exactly what she wanted to write for her next story! Giggling to herself she stood, easily making her way over to the light switch in the dark, flipping it on as she reached it. As the room was thrown into the light she flinched, blinking rapidly to adjust to the sudden change. Once she could see clearly she strode across the room to her desk and sat down on the brown chair in front of it. Pressing the power button on her computer she waited impatiently for it to boot up, tapping her fingernails against the desktop. Finally it did and she grinned. ”This is going to be one of my best yet. I just know it!” With those words she clicked open the program she wanted and began to type furiously on the keys, her fingers little more than a blur of motion.
