Character's Origin:
{written by Lin~} Well, like Sara, this character is a mix of many sources. Lol such as Sara herself, me seeing a picture of Nyx on the ACD, and then researching said character for hours. When I told Lindsay about the character she said she'd love try writing as him, so long as I would help her (given the fact that he was originally my idea). As such he is an amalgamation of both our thoughts and ideas as well as some good ole Nyx thrown in too (for information please ask Lindsay~).
Character's Special Powers:
[/i]
- Horror Summoning - This technique requires the user's blood be sacrificed to the demon Mait (may-ite). In turn the being shall allow the user to cast an illusion on the intended victim that shows them their worst nightmares. Depending on the amount of blood and the mental strength of the inflicted these illusions can be either strong or weak.
- Demonic Summoning - Calling to Bergo (bur-go), after offering their blood the user is able to summon a demon from the pits of Hell itself. These demons vary in power and skill level from weak to invincible based off the amount of blood offered.
- Shadow Invocation - This power allows the user to summon shadows all around them. However, despite the fact that these shadows make it extremely difficult to see, they are not very useful as they only extend for twenty feet in any given direction.
- Enchantment of the Beast - Using this power the user attempts to draw upon the power of Bergo himself. If the user is successful they will take on a more demonic appearance and gain additional strength. If they are unsuccessful their magic will be severely drained.
- Lost Rite of Binding - An almost forgotten spell, its purpose is to bind a demon or spirit. However the stronger the demon the less successful it is. For instance Jon is unable to bind Bergo with it, though that was his intention.
Other Magic
- Light Orb - This ability allows the user to create an orb of light in their hand to guide them through the dark. A simple spell that requires little energy but is good for little else.
- Precognition - In his dreams Jon is able to see visions of possible futures. However due to the influence of the demon Bergo, this dreams become nightmares of horrible things. Although the future is changeable he has no way of knowing when these events he sees are to take place or where.
- Memory Manipulation - Jon possesses a type of memory manipulation ability that allows him to show some of his own memories to others. However because he needs to be in physical contact with them for a long enough period of time to give them his memories this is very difficult to use.
- Mirrors - Jon possesses a high level of control over mirrors. He is able to project his image from one place to another using them as well as actually meld his body into a mirror in order to travel between two of them. He must be careful though to not be in a mirror when it is destroyed or else he will be killed.
- Magician's Tricks - Though not real magic, these tricks are a good way to entertain, astound, or even to escape from an unwanted situation. These sleight of hand illusions and tricks usually involve birds, coins, cards, or smoke.
Character's Appearance:
At first glance Jonathon appears to be a rich young man, though in truth there is so much more to him than that. Let’s start from the top down, shall we? His black hair is long and somewhat wild. It is the type of thick hair that is difficult to tame, therefore he often ends up wearing it pulled back, tied with a ribbon or a piece of cloth at the nape of his neck. And even then there are parts of it that are still uncontrollable. Although he has bangs they naturally part themselves to leave the middle of his wide forehead visible. His eyes are narrow and a rich shade of bluish gray. They are the type of eyes that seem to change color based on various light conditions, such as darker blue at night and lighter in bright sunlight. He normally has a calculating look in them that can either be unnerving or mysterious. As his vision isn’t the best in his left eye he wears a monocle of sorts. It is specially designed to clip to the bridge of his nose and stay there without falling. How this is accomplished is a trade secret of the company he purchased it from that even he doesn’t know. The side opposite the clip hangs a decoration in blue and gold. His nose is long and set just above a wide mouth that is prone to either smiling or looking worried with only a scant few in-betweens.
His skin is fair but not pale. Over the years he has considered getting a tattoo but has always thought better of it in the end due to a minor fear of needles as well as the knowledge that the tattoo would be permanent. Jon stands at an impressive six feet due to his British ancestry. He is also quite slender for a man, perhaps unnaturally so. In fact it wouldn’t be much of a stretch to call him anorexic; that is, if anorexia applies to men. Luckily he manages to hide this fact by wearing looser clothing and coats. Although they work to a point if someone were to hug him they would realize just how thin he actually is. Despite this “problem” he is actually quite lithe with a good deal of muscle. Not remotely a bodybuilder by any standers, he still has enough muscle to lift heavy objects without too much exertion as well as run without getting winded too easily. At least, not winded too easily for the most part. There are times when his condition acts up and he is unable to do much of anything without being weakened to the point of fainting or worse. His clothing style (other than loose) ranges from simple, peasant type clothes to elegant and expensive ones. He will often wear slacks, a white button down shirt, a vest, a cravat, a loose bow-tie, and an overcoat. He also often wears the Tomlinson family broach on the left side of his coat, pinned directly above his heart.
Due to years of using black magic without knowing the consequences the powers would have on his body, Jon’s body is riddled with scars. These scars range in size from nearly invisible to long gashes that may never vanish entirely. But that is hardly the strangest part of his appearance, oh no. When he loses himself to Bergo purple markings appear on his face and neck (refer to personality for more information on possession). During this level of possession his eyes also change color from blue to gray and take on a much colder look. They will flash back to blue when Jon regains control, but change back to gray if he loses it again. Also, the stronger a hold Bergo has on him the more purple marks will be on his flesh. There is also an extremely advanced level of possession that has occurred once thus far in his young life. When Bergo takes him over completely his hair becomes even more wild than usual, the purple marks cover the rest of his body, and his eyes become demonic and purple. Little does Jon know but his thinness is a symptom of not only using black magic but also of the possession. Each time he gets possessed his lifespan is shortened by more and more time, and if he isn’t careful it will eventually kill him, claiming his soul for the demonic realm. Other symptoms include excessive coughing, particularly coughing up blood, and chronic fatigue.
Character's Personality:
Jon comes from a very rich and prominent British family, but because he didn’t want to live a life just off the money he went to school to become a barrister. Though he spends most of his time in England with his grandparents he also does a great deal of travel, particularly to Japan. Although in general Jon is a gentleman with good manners and a kind, gentle smile for all, even he has his moments of anger or depression. Over the past year these moments have increased ten-fold and have become very sporadic and unpredictable. This is due to the demon Bergo who on occasion possesses the man’s body temporarily. As his body weakens so does Jon’s hope for being saved. Now he only desires to try to save others like him, who have not yet gotten to the point of possession when they called upon the demon’s powers.
A great lover of tea, fine wine, and books, Jon spends a lot of his free time reading while drinking one of the two. He is also a great lover of street magic, though he would never admit as much to his very-rich-and-judgmental family. He also hopes that before he dies he will at the very least be able to find out what happened to not only his parents but to his younger brother, all who went missing many years before. He knows that their being missing is painful for his grandparents, though they refuse to even bring up the topic of the missing persons. And as he hates seeing people in pain he will do what he can to try to rectify the situation. After all, if he were to die before any of them were found his grandparents would be even sadder than they already were.

The only sound in the otherwise silent room was heavy breathing and occasional moans. If someone were to pass by the room they would guess that the moans were from a beast of some kind. The moans were inhuman, though their source was in fact a living, breathing person just like any other. Though at the moment the man looked anything but human. His tall frame was hunched over in pain, and it was shaking violently. ”Please… no… don’t come out… not again…” he pleaded with himself, or more accurately something within himself. ”Let me be in peace… please…”
His body shuddered again as he let out a pained sob. Why did this have to happen to him? Why had he been so foolish in his youth? Barely twenty-six the man was already starting to resemble a skeleton with flesh. And it was from his own foolishness; his own stupidity. If only he had known what calling upon Bergo would do to him he never would have invoked the demon’s powers. It was too late for him now though. He would die for his mistake. But there was another; he could feel the presence of another like him. Someone who called upon the demon.
Except this person… this person was still safe. For now anyway. He just needed to hold it together, remain alive long enough for him to warn the person. He just needed to keep Bergo under control long enough to actually do so. That was proving to be much harder than he had hoped as the demon refused to give him the freedom to seek out the other mage. Gritting his teeth the man staggered upright and with a bloodcurdling scream he finally managed to suppress the demon trying to possess him. Watery blue eyes closed as he sighed in relief. He had to leave soon; now, if he wanted to save them.
